Walter Kaczmarek, President, Chief Executive Officer
Walt was named president and CEO in March 2005. He has more than 30 years of business experience in our area, of which 25 years are in banking. Walt was with Comerica for 15 years, responsible for middle market banking and private banking. He joined Comerica with the merger of San Jose-based Plaza Bank of Commerce where he was instrumental in helping successfully merge the two organizations. Prior to joining Plaza Bank, he served for six years with The Martin Group, a real estate investment-development company and nearly eight years with Union Bank of California. Walt has a bachelor's degree in commerce with a finance emphasis from Santa Clara University where he also pitched for the Bronco baseball team. He earned his master's degree in business administration from San Jose State University. Currently, Walt serves on the advisory board for Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business.
William DelBiaggio, Jr., Executive Vice President, Founding Chairman
Bill is a proven entrepreneur and leader. He currently holds the position of Founding Chairman & Executive Vice President of Heritage Bank. He built and managed Santa Clara Valley Distributors, Inc., a highly successful family-owned and operated wholesale beverage distributor, into a multi- million-dollar operation. Through his many businesses, social, and civic activities, Bill has built a wide range of contacts in the greater Santa Clara Valley. The respect and esteem he earned from the business community still endures. He was Chairman of the Board of Via for three years, which serves children and adults with disabilities. He served as President of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens Corporation. He served a seven year term as a Trustee at Presentation High School. Bill served on the Campaign Cabinet of United Way for the 2003-2004 campaign. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Daughters of Charity Health System. He is a member of the Board of Directors of San Jose Police Foundation and is its Treasurer. He is also a Trustee of the Metro A Fund of the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Michael Benito, Executive Vice President, Banking Division
Michael is known in the banking industry as an exceptional relationship banker as a result of his financial engineering skills and knowledge of treasury management. He joined Heritage Bank in 2003 after serving as a managing director for Greater Bay Bank and prior to that as Regional Vice President of the Santa Clara Valley Region of Imperial Bancorp. He began his banking career of more than 25 years ago at Union Bank. Michael graduated with honors from California State University, Fresno, with a bachelor's degree. Michael also serves on several civic, not-for-profit charity boards in Santa Clara County along with the Board of Fellows of Santa Clara University and the Executive Advisory Board to the School of Business at San Jose State University.
Ruth Brown, Senior Vice President, SBA Department Manager
Prior to joining Heritage Bank of Commerce, Ruth was Managing Director of First Republic Bank. Ruth has more than 22 years of banking experience with many years of small business lending. She was previously Senior Vice President at Bank of Walnut Creek, which First Republic acquired in 2006. She has held other positions with Bank of America and San Jose National Bank. Ruth is active within the community in a variety of organizations including Special Olympics. Ruth is an East Bay native having grown up in Pleasant Hill and attended schools in Walnut Creek and Moraga. Ruth earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga. She is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle.
Kelly Davis, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
Kelly has a broad background in banking with both lending and business development expertise. Before joining Heritage Bank of Commerce, Kelly was with a competitor bank as Regional Manager for the Santa Clara Valley, where she has spent the past 25 years. Kelly is active in the community, serving on the board of directors for the Los Altos Village Association. She is a former board member for the Endowment Fund of the Junior League in Palo Alto and a member of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce.
Janice Miyatake, Senior Vice President, Deposit Officer
Janice has more than 17 years of experience in building strong relationships with bank clients. Prior to joining Heritage Bank, Janice has worked for Greater Bay Bank's Santa Clara Valley National Bank and Wells Fargo. An active member with non-profits in the community, she recently served on the board of directors for the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she serves on the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation and Quota Club of Cupertino Boards and is a member of the professional women's group Midori Kai and the Valle Monte League.
Christine Moss, Senior Vice President, Branch Manager
Prior to joining Heritage Bank, Christine was vice president/manager at San Jose National Bank. She also worked for California Business Bank and Imperial Bank in San Jose. Christine has more than 40 years in the banking industry. She came to the United States as an Au Pair from Britain in 1967. Christine opened Heritage Bank's Los Gatos branch back in December 2003 where she prides herself in extraordinary customer service that has helped her attract and retain her loyal customer following throughout her career.
Jeff Perkins, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
Jeff has over 35 years of banking experience, with special focus in commercial banking and building relationships. Prior to joining Heritage Bank of Commerce he was the Northern Market Manager for Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. Jeff also spent over 20 years with Bank of America. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree from California State University, Fresno and he is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle. Jeff lives in Morgan Hill and is active in the community, serving on boards for the Morgan Hill Community Foundation and South County United Way.
Cathy Raty, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
Cathy Raty has lived and worked in Pleasanton for more than thirty years and is very well respected in this community. Before joining Heritage Bank of Commerce, Cathy was a senior vice president with Mt. Diablo National Bank in Pleasanton, California. With 30 years of banking and finance experience, Cathy has worked for Bank of Pleasanton, Community First National Bank and Bank of America. She attended both St. Mary's college in Moraga and San Jose State University, earning a bachelors degree in Sociology from San Jose State University. Cathy is a past officer of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and a long-time member of the George Spiliotopoulos Golf Tournament Committee; an all volunteer group of business leaders that has raised more than $750,000 for college scholarships in the Tri-Valley area.
Gerriann Smith, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
Gerriann offers our clients a unique blend of commercial and consumer banking expertise. Before joining Heritage Bank, Gerriann was a senior vice president and branch manager with Mt. Diablo National Bank in Danville, California. With over two decades of banking and finance experience, Gerriann has also worked for Westamerica Bank and Bank of America. She earned a bachelors degree in economics and social welfare from the University of California Berkeley where she also completed her postgraduate credential for elementary teaching.
Roxanne Vane, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
Roxanne has nearly thirty years in the banking industry, with a broad range of marketing, credit management, and organization management skills. As a senior member of the commercial banking team, she is responsible for our San Jose market. Prior to joining Heritage Bank, Roxanne was a senior vice president with Cupertino National Bank and San Jose National Bank. She received an undergraduate degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University. Roxanne is very active in the community and she serves on the board of directors for HOPE Services, which provides a range of employment, job training, and life-skills programs for the developmentally disabled in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties. In 2001, Roxanne received the Ignatian Award from the Santa Clara University Alumni Association for her work in the community.
Dustin Warford, Senior Vice President, Real Estate Industries Division Manager
Dustin has worked in the financial services industry for over ten years bringing together leadership and a broad banking expertise. Before joining Heritage Bank he completed a Credit Training program and held his series 7 and Life Agent license while working in Wealth and Institutional Management. As an active member in our community, he founded 19 for Life, a local non-profit dedicated to awarding scholarship money to high-school athletes that have overcome significant adversity. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University with a BS in Finance and MBA with concentration in Finance.
Tim White, Senior Vice President, Regional Manager
A 21-year banking veteran, Tim has worked for First Interstate Bank of California and Civic Bank of Commerce. He migrated to the East Bay in 2004 to assist in the initial growth of Diablo Valley Bank before its merger with Heritage Bank of Commerce in 2007. Tim is an active member of the community and is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, advisory board member of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership at John F. Kennedy University, and a board member for the non-profit Healthy Kids In Schools. Tim received an MBA from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and a bachelor's degree from Principia College. White is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
